Shopify transaction fees are easy to underestimate because sellers often think about one fee at a time.

A Shopify order may include payment processing fees, transaction fees for some payment setups, app costs, theme or subscription costs, shipping tools, and fulfillment costs. The exact setup depends on the store, plan, payment provider, and apps used.

For pricing work, the important habit is to separate variable costs from fixed costs. Payment fees and fulfillment costs usually move with each order. Plan costs and many apps are fixed monthly costs that should be checked through break-even planning.

Example: If an order sells for 80, product cost is 32, shipping and packaging are 9, and payment plus app-related order costs are 4, profit before ads is 35. If paid ads add 16 per order, profit falls to 19.
