How to calculate lead response time

Learn how to calculate average lead response time and why fast follow-up matters for lead generation.

Lead response time measures the average time it takes to follow up with new leads.

The formula is:

Average lead response time = total response minutes / leads contacted

For example, if a team spends 2,400 total response minutes across 200 leads, average response time is 12.00 minutes.

You can also calculate an SLA hit rate. If 160 of those 200 leads were contacted within the target window, SLA hit rate is 80.00%.

Use the Lead Response Time Calculator at /tools/lead-response-time-calculator, then compare the result with lead conversion rate, lead quality score, sales conversion rate, and CPL.
