A lead generation funnel might measure visitor-to-lead, lead-to-MQL, MQL-to-SQL, SQL-to-opportunity, and opportunity-to-customer conversion. Each stage tells a different story.

Example: A landing page gets 20,000 visits and 800 leads, so visitor-to-lead conversion is 4%. If 200 become qualified leads, lead-to-qualified conversion is 25%. If 30 become customers, lead-to-customer conversion is 3.75% from leads.

Benchmarks should be separated by offer and channel. A high-intent demo page, a webinar, a calculator, and a checklist will not convert the same way.
